ETR Associates’ Director of Knowledge and Information Management Elected to Santa Cruz County Volunteer Center B.O.D.

Peggy Flynn, MA, Director of the Knowledge and Information Management Department at ETR Associates was recently elected to the California-based Santa Cruz County Volunteer Center Board of Directors, and will serve as the co-chair for the Volunteer Center's Literacy Program. At ETR Associates, Ms. Flynn oversees the Knowledge and Information Management Department, which houses numerous projects, including the National Service Resources and Training (NSRT) project. NSRT assists the expanding work of AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, VISTA and Learn and Serve America. ETR Associates operates virtual resource centers that provide training and technical assistance for these national programs, which support the millions of volunteers of all ages working in thousands of organizations and educational settings across the United States. The Santa Cruz County Volunteer Center conducts training for local AmeriCorps and VISTA volunteers for Santa Cruz County.

About Peggy Flynn, MA: Peggy Flynn is the Director of ETR's Knowledge and Information Management Department. A former lobbyist for a California technology corporation, Ms. Flynn focused on health policy issues related to electronic information dissemination. She was also the co-publisher of a small, independent publishing company (Badger Creek Press) that focused on health policy, producing several position papers based on White House health conferences. With her degree in Intercultural Management, Ms. Flynn was a Peace Corps trainer in Central America and an elections supervisor in the Balkans for the U. S. State Department. Prior to joining ETR, she was the co-founder of a domestic NGO that focused on the health, education, social and psychological needs of homeless youth in Santa Cruz County, California. While an undergraduate at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., she wrote science radio scripts for the Voice of America, and was a stringer covering the politics of the environment for an independent newspaper in South Carolina. She currently serves on several community boards and committees in Santa Cruz, including Planned Parenthood and the United Way of Santa Cruz County. She is a former board member of the Santa Cruz Community Credit Union, and was appointed to the Santa Cruz City Sister Cities Commission by the Santa Cruz City Council.
