Rachel Geisler is the Community Outreach Specialist for the California Clean Air Project (CCAP), a statewide project of ETR Associates providing training and technical support on all aspects of secondhand smoke in tribal casinos and tribal lands throughout California. A collaborative approach has led to success approach in assisting tribal leaders and casino managers to adopt and implement voluntary policies comparable to the California Smoke-Free Workplace Act. Rachel has had a deep commitment working for her people in Indian countries. She has worked for the tribal Court for over 10 years, that governs over 16 tribes in California. Her primary area of law she focused on was juveniles. She has seen the impacts that face her community within the legal field and understands there is a need within the tribal youth. Rachel is a Tribal Citizen of the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, in San Diego county. She has lived in San Diego the majority of her life on the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians, reservation. Rachel holds a bachelor’s degree in American Indian Studies from San Diego State University.
