Nixa Sanchez serves as a Project Coordinator in the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs branch of ETR. Her primary role is supporting the statewide Tribal Community Coordinating Center (TCCC) to develop and advance tobacco control initiatives in Tribal communities. Prior to joining ETR, Nixa worked at various community centered nonprofit organizations focused on equity, education, and the arts.
Nixa Sanchez holds a B.A. in Government and Ethnic Studies from CSU Sacramento. She received her M.A. in History from CSU Northridge where she specialized in the history of the American Southwest and Latin America. Nixa is passionate about cultural conservation, traditional knowledge, and equal access to health, education, and opportunities.
