Description
SFUSD’s Nutrition Education Project (NEP) has two primary objectives: 1) to educate children about the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables every day and being physically active for 60 minutes a day and 2) to empower classroom teachers and after school staff to integrate nutrition education and physical activity into classroom culture and lessons. ETR’s role is to administer NEP pretest and posttest surveys with elementary school students, analyze survey responses, and disseminate results to SFUSD. ETR also conducts a staff survey to assess implementation of nutrition lessons and resource needs. This work helps SFUSD identify NEP program successes and challenges.
