Next4You Recruitment Partners

Help recruit youth in foster care to test a website with a focus on health and wellness!

What is Next4You?

Next4You aims to empower California youth in foster care through an interactive website. The website was co-designed with youth who have lived experience in foster care. Next4You focuses on important health topics such as sexual health and healthy relationships, and information to help prepare young people to transition out of the foster care system.

Participants will have 4 weeks to interact with 6 self-paced modules through 1-3 minute microlessons. The study seeks to understand if using the website decreases young people's risk for sexually transmitted infections or unplanned pregnancy and increases healthy life skills.

Recruitment partners can support in one or more of these ways:

  • Individually promote the study to youth and invite them to take part.
  • Hold group recruitment sessions at your agency.
  • Identify community events for Next4You staff to table or host a booth.
  • Refer other agencies who serve youth in foster care to become recruitment partners.

Recruitment sites will:

  • Decide on an annual recruitment target number in collaboration with ETR.
  • Identify a Recruitment Ambassador to serve as the primary contact. The Recruitment Ambassador will introduce eligible youth to the study and support youth with the enrollment process. Recruitment Ambassadors will be trained before the study starts and will receive an annual stipend.
  • Support study retention by helping with survey reminders for youth enrolled in the study but who have not completed surveys.
  • Maintain regular communication with Next4You program staff on recruitment issues and challenges.
  • Receive an annual site participation stipend ranging from $500-$3,000 based on an annual recruitment target.
