Director of Business Development (Remote - United States)

The Director of Business Development, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, leads strategic systems development, management, and implementation of revenue generation activities to expand ETR’s impact, including competitive analysis, prospecting, relationship development, and grant and proposal development and submission. The position works in partnership with members of the finance, compliance, and project management to manage, coordinate, and support post-award reporting and funder management and provides conceptual leadership and management of cross-agency initiatives. This is a remote position and is open to anywhere in the United States.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- The use of a personal vehicle or rental car for ETR business will require a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to timeline adjustments and balance completion of designated project tasks, both short and long term, with the performance of routine duties. Willingness to work additional hours during deadline periods.
- Knowledge of customer relationship management platforms; savvy with technology-based platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Capability to work independently and within diverse teams.
- Ability to multitask, organize, and implement complex plans and projects successfully.
- Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort and experience in identifying, assessing and implementing technology solutions (including AI-based).
- Proven track record in developing and implementing systems, processes and tools to improve efficiency and impact.
- Up-to-date with emerging practices and issues in health and/or education sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, local government, and private funding streams.
- Demonstrated experience in grant and proposal writing, management, supervision, and process facilitation.
- At least 10 years of business development experience with mid-size to large regional or national non-profits or academic organizations.
- Proven experience in health and education programs or content expertise is essential.
Location: Remote – Anywhere in the United States.
Starting Pay Range: $126,000-154,900 annually. The typical hiring range for this position is $126,000 - $140,800 at 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
