"Sex
and HIV Education Programs for Youth: Their Impact and Important
Characteristics"
by Doug Kirby, PhD, B.A. Laris, MPH and Lori Rolleri, MSW, MPH, May 2006 The Evidence-Based Programs on the ReCAPP site are:
For each curriculum we provide: an overview of the curriculum, a discussion of unique features, a description of the theoretical framework, program costs and training information, and an evaluation fact sheet. All these curricula have been rigorously evaluated and have shown impact on sexual risk-taking behavior. We do not rank the curricula by effectiveness, but present the evaluators' findings. Not all the curricula have shown similar positive results when replicated. ReCAPP's programming committee has established program and evaluation criteria on which to base selection of programs for the "Evidence-Based Programs" section. For more information, check out:
If you are using an Evidence-Based Program curriculum, please give us feedback on how it is working for you. If you have questions about implementation, ask us.
