Almost 100 people from all parts of the country attended Day One of ETR's Summer Training Institute, held in San Jose, California, July 26-29, 2006. More than half of the participants stayed for the entire four days.

As one participant said, "I know that our training experiences were as varied as the nature of our work, but I am left with a sense of our commitment to the students, which is inspiring."

The Institute welcomed teachers, community-based educators and group leaders, professional developers and trainers, administrators from school and community organizations, and other professionals interested in evidence-based programs for youth. It began with an afternoon dedicated to excellence in evidence-based programming and was followed by two days of skills-based training on Reducing the Risk (RTR). The last day was devoted to training the trainer.
