Lesson 17: Drug-Free Pledges: Support for Myself & Others

Overview

In this lesson, students make a pledge to be drug free. They review the benefits of being drug free and the words and actions that will help them avoid pressure to use drugs. They also discuss ways to support friends and classmates in keeping their pledges.

Lesson Objectives

Students will be able to:

  1. Express intentions to be drug free.
  2. Summarize the personal benefits of being drug free.
  3. Identify ways to help others be drug free.

Time: 45 - 60 minutes

  • AOD-3: Avoid the use of alcohol.
  • AOD-4: Avoid the use of illegal drugs.
  • AOD-8: Support others to be alcohol and other drug free.
  • T-1: Avoid using (or experimenting with) any form of tobacco.
  • T-4: Support others to be tobacco free.
