Image H5b2 Complex Description

Diagram of the reproductive system in a body with a vagina showing how an egg gets fertilized. The uterus is shown with a fallopian tube coming off each side with an ovary lying behind each one. There is an egg, represented by concentric circles, in the top part of one of the fallopian tube just beyond the fingerlike projections at its end. Many sperm cells, represented as dots with a wiggly line as a tail that looks like a small tadpole, are shown moving up through the vagina and the cervix or opening to the uterus, and then splitting into two groups that travel up each side of the uterus. The group traveling into the fallopian tube pictured on the right have reached the egg.
