As a Project Coordinator in the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Branch, Holly’s primary role is supporting the statewide rural coordinating center, RISE, to develop and advance tobacco control initiatives in rural communities. Holly also works on the Communities Energized for Health project to promote smoke-free policies in multi-unit housing and casinos.
Prior to her position at ETR, Holly developed asthma education programs in community health centers in the Central Valley, assisted in research of the impacts of climate change related to health equity, and coordinated tobacco control policy efforts in Yolo County.
She holds a Bachelor’s in anthropology from UC Merced and a Master’s in public health from UC Davis. It was through her graduate program and thesis project on the inclusivity of clinical environments for LGBTQ+ patients, that Holly realized her passion for health equity and social determinants of health.
