ETR Defines 'Promising Programs' for CDC

Under the heading, Adolescent Reproductive Health: Promoting Science Based Approaches, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) defines a Science-Based Approach, a Science-Based Program, and a Promising Program. CDC's definition of a 'promising program' is based upon research conducted by ETR's own Douglas Kirby and Lori Rolleri. CDC writes:

"A promising program is one that has not been formally evaluated but has most of the characteristics of programs shown to be effective. Dr. Douglas Kirby and colleagues have developed a list of 17 characteristics of effective curriculum-based programs."
