ETR Associates' Award-Winning TEC Program Featured in Three-Part Series

ETR Associates' award-winning program Tecnología Educación Comunidad (TEC) was recently featured in a three-part article series on the Watsonville, California, Patch Network. TEC is an after-school program developed by ETR Associates in partnership with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District Extended Learning Program. TEC teaches basic computer education to largely Spanish-speaking students in grades 5 through 12 in Watsonville, a predominantly Latino community in Northern California. The program develops skills in video gaming and beyond as students' skill levels progress. TEC students have won national recognition. Watsonville High School junior Stephanie Barraza won a national award for Aspirations in Computing from the National Center for Women and Information Technology, and a team of middle school girls from the TEC program placed fourth and eighth in a California state-wide website design competition during 2011.
