Dr. Francisco Buchting Publishes Article on Recent Institute of Medicine Report on LGBT Health

Dr. Francisco O. Buchting, Vice President of Program Services at ETR Associates, recently published an article for the website 365gay.com addressing the recent Institute of Medicine (IOM) report on LGBT Health. In the article, titled "Why the IOM Report Is a Healthy Change for LGBTs," Dr. Buchting summarizes why this IOM report marks a turning point in addressing health inequalities in the LGBT community. A community that historically was not counted in most community health research and therefore did not exist is now being measured, starting with the IOM report. Dr. Buchting also points out that that the LGBT community must now become more of a focus in health research and public health funding.
