Values and Vision: Participants share visions for model
implementation that focus on youth learnings. Shared values support
norms of behavior that guide decisions about teaching and learning.
Collective
Learning and Application of Learning: Participants at
all levels share information and work collaboratively to assist
each other in planning, solving problems and improving learning
opportunities. Together they seek knowledge, skills and strategies
and apply this new learning to their work.
Supportive
Conditions: Collegial relationships include respect,
trust, norms of critical inquiry and improvement, and positive,
caring relationships among the educators and administrators.
Shared
Personal Practice: During the Institute, participants
visit with and observe one another to offer encouragement and
to provide feedback on instructional practices to assist in youth
learnings and increase individual and organizational capacity.
After the Institute, participants share personal practice asynchronously
using online listservs.
