KNOWLEDGE & INFO MANAGEMENT

Description of Services

ETR has been developing and managing Resource Centers and Clearinghouses under state and federal contracts for almost 20 years. For each project the goal is always the same: to provide the highest quality services and products to the funders and their clients. These resources then enable myriad users to improve program efficiency and build the capacity of organizations and institutions that deliver needed educational, health, and social services around the country.

ETR’s develops and manages Websites and interactive online tools, as well as lending libraries and material distribution centers, that support the information and dissemination needs of:

  • Policy and decision makers
  • Social and political change advocates
  • National, state and community organizations
  • Educational institutions and health departments

Reliable, well-researched information is disseminated from our website via:

  • Webinars
  • Online courses (and lesson plans, syllabi, curricula)
  • Online forums, blogs and calendars
  • Promising and effective practices
  • Fact sheets, guides, toolkits
  • Virtual library collections
  • Interactive Databases
  • Links

Our staff don’t just work with our clients—we listen carefully to them, and use surveys, focus groups and in-depth interviews to identify their needs as well as those of their users. The products and tools we develop are then tailored to meet clients’ and users’ needs.

National Service Resources and Training (NSRT)

Description

National Service Resources & Training (NSRT) consolidates ETR’s work funded by the federal Corporation for National and Community Service to assist the expanding work of AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, VISTA, and Learn and Serve America. These programs support the millions of volunteers of all ages working in thousands of organizations and educational settings across the country who embody the idea of creating a culture of service that is both values-based and results-oriented. NSRT is now managing and developing the services provided by ETR’s long-standing projects, the National Service Knowledge Network and the National Service-Learning Clearinghouse. Through a versatile and dedicated staff, we provide access to a wide variety of reference and referral library services, training and technical assistance, online learning and community development, effective practices databases, searchable resource databases, links to relevant websites, e-mail discussion lists and discussion forums, and online collaboration tools. We maintain the nation’s largest library of service-learning materials and resources and a diverse collection of resources to support non-profit management and capacity-building. We lead a national network of training and technical assistance providers and produce their materials through several major web-based electronic resource and learning centers. Our web products rely on high-end open source software and meet or exceed federal accessibility requirements. We are committed to continuous improvement of the search capability that enables users to find relevant and useful information quickly.
