About Us
ETR Associates — a nationally recognized training, education
and research agency — has partnered with SecondPeak —
a cutting edge software company — to research and develop
training that will help educators maximize their ability to teach
keepin' it REAL.
Founded in 1981, ETR Associates is a private, non-profit corporation.
ETR Associates' mission is to enhance the well-being of individuals,
families and communities by providing leadership, educational resources,
training and research in health promotion with an emphasis on sexuality
and health education.
ETR Associates is committed to helping children, young people and
adults and their families and communities develop attitudes and
behaviors that contribute to optimal health and well-being. Because
the adoption of healthy attitudes and behaviors is complex and influenced
by a multitude of personal and environmental factors, we believe
that a variety of efforts is needed encompassing both health education
and health promotion interventions. We also believe these efforts
should be based on sound research and evaluation.
ETR assists a variety of clients (departments of health and education,
foundations, school districts, community-based organizations, clinics
and hospitals, faith-based communities, and corporations) in adapting
and tailoring evidence-based programs or effective practices to
the priority populations in their communities. Our trainings are
culturally-competent and skills-based, and are customized to strengthen
the capacity of staff in the agencies we serve.
SecondPeak has more than 15 years' experience developing award winning
instruction and using state of the art technology to deliver information
and learning to users worldwide. We have extensive experience in
course design and development, including needs assessments, instructional
design, script writing, story boarding, usability testing and multimedia
production.
SecondPeak has developed hours of instruction, including computer training, K-12 education, sales and customer service training, and health services education. We also have extensive experience writing and producing learning systems for delivery on the web, video, CDROM, DVD and print.
