CDC Dissemination of Adaptation Guidance for Adolescent Reproductive Health Programs

Description

The “Adaptation Project” provides assistance to CDC’s Department of Reproductive Health grantees and other reproductive health educators on how to make informed and effective adaptations to evidence-based teen pregnancy, STD and HIV prevention programs. Making informed adaptations are important in order for practitioners to respond to community values, agency policies, and cultural, language and literacy needs of priority populations. Specifically, the project will: 1) Publish adaptation guidance kits for five evidence-based teen pregnancy, STD and HIV prevention programs, and make them available for free to the public on www.etr.org/recapp; 2) Develop two additional adaptation guidance kits for two CDC identified evidence-based teen pregnancy, STD and HIV prevention programs; 3) Develop a document that provides generic green/yellow/red light adaption guidance for sexuality education programs; 4) Document the adaptation guidance development process and resultant framework in a journal article.
