Biography

Matt Cherry has worked as a trainer, instructional designer and project manager and has over 20 years of e-learning design and development experience. He has extensive experience working with Learning Management Systems, course authoring tools, and social media to support learning. Prior to joining the ETR team, Matt worked for six years for a high-tech company (TCT Technical Training) in the Silicon Valley as the Lead Instructional Designer, and then Design Manager, where he managed an international team of instructional designers, programmers, and graphic artists who built online courses for IT products such as Cisco, NT, Network Associates, UNIX. As a Project Coordinator of eLearning at ETR, Matt is responsible for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of all self-paced online learning for the agency. Matt works closely with internal/external SMEs and funding agency staff to assess training needs, design & develop appropriate training activities, and assess their effectiveness after launch. Matt has worked in this capacity for many federal, state, and privately-funded agency projects including the Corporation for National and Community Service, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Tobacco Education Clearinghouse of California. In addition, Matt develops interactive media and video components for many online learning and marketing products at ETR. He has a B.S. in instructional design from Cal State University, Chico.
