Narinder Dhaliwal Receives Carol M. Russell Leadership Award

Narinder Dhaliwal, project director of ETR's California Clean Air Project (CCAP), was recently awarded the Carol M. Russell leadership award by the California Department of Public Health, California Tobacco Control Program, at an awards dinner in Napa. She received this award in general recognition of her leadership, vision, passion and commitment to the goals of the State's tobacco control and prevention programs, and specifically for her work in developing and supporting bans on secondhand smoke throughout the State. Award nominations come from other tobacco activists and health educators, and the winner is chosen by a panel of judges external to the State staff. Being acknowledged by her peers and colleagues was especially rewarding to Narinder, who noted that the entire CCAP team---Dian Kiser, Theresa Boschert and Crystal Simpson---was responsible for all the good work accomplished in less than four years by CCAP.
