May 5, 2015 – Jay M. Bernhardt, PhD, MPH, has been named interim dean of the Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin. He’ll begin in this new role in September.
Dr. Bernhardt has extensive background in health education and digital health and wellness. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in the application of communication, marketing and media to public health, health care and medicine. He has previously served as the director of the National Center for Health Marketing at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where he helped implement impressive increases in public engagement through social media and other digital platforms.
Dr. Bernhardt has been an active member of ETR’s Board since May 2013. He contributed a recent column to our newsletter reviewing strategies for building greater engagement through new media. We wish him the best in this new endeavor, and congratulate Moody College on bringing his formidable talent to their organization.
