ETR Associates BOD Member New CEO for National Network of Public Health Institutes

ETR Associates' Board of Directors member Dr. Vincent Lafronza has accepted a new position as the chief executive officer for the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI). NNPHI is located in New Orleans, Louisiana and Washington, D.C. Dr. Lafronza was previously the president and co-founder of Common Health ACTION, a public health organization based in Washington,D.C. He will continue in his role as a member of ETR Associates' Board of Directors.

Created in 2001 as a forum for public health institutes (PHIs), today NNPHI convenes its members and partners at the local, state and national levels in efforts to address critical health issues. NNPHI's mission is to support national public health systems initiatives and strengthen PHIs to promote multi-sector activities resulting in measurable improvements of public health structures, systems and outcomes. About Dr.Lafronza:

Dr. Lafronza began his human services and public health career in 1985, working in the fields of gerontology, behavioral health,community environmental health intervention and public health systems development in communities, states and American Indian/Alaska Native nations.Prior to founding Common Health ACTION, he held a ten-year appointment with the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), where he served as program director for the Turning Point National Program Office, and was responsible for program portfolios in excess of $14M. Dr. Lafronza has also worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry in Atlanta, Georgia, providing technical assistance to U.S. communities affected by hazardous waste.

He holds a Master of Science and Doctor of Adult Education degrees, as well as a Certificate of Gerontology. He has also completed an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Engineering Postgraduate Research Fellowship in public health. He is a Salzburg Fellow and an active member of the American Public Health Association and the Association of Community Health Improvement, and maintains ties with public health practitioners throughout the United States and other countries.
