ETR Associates Awarded 3-Year Contract from California Tobacco Control Program

ETR Associates was recently awarded a $4 million, 3-year contract by the State of California's Tobacco Control Program to continue managing the nation's oldest and largest tobacco clearinghouse, the Tobacco Education Clearinghouse of California (TECC). TECC provides tobacco prevention and control information and resources to state funded projects, as well as other national organizations involved in changing social norms and behavior related to the use of tobacco products. TECC is managed by Knowledge & Information Management (KIM) Department in ETR Associates' Program Services Division.

In addition to the base amount of the contract, TECC expects to generate another $1.3 million from the sale of tobacco-related advocacy and informational material. The TECC project has been managed by ETR Associates for 20 years. The new contract begins on November 1, 2010 and will feature numerous new services, products and functionalities. One example is the new "Expert Linkages Network," a web-based center of information and resources accessible to individuals and organizations involved in tobacco prevention and control. In addition to timely and relevant information the Network will include a database of national experts (e.g., training, strategic planning, evaluation) available for consultation. These national experts will be able to advertise their services (via ads, video clips, etc) on the site. TECC will also expand its staff with three additions.
